Meditation on Galatians 5:13-25

Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. (ESV)
Lord, you have called me to freedom. Free not so I can rebel. Free not so I can reject you. Free not so I can be self-centered. You have given me the freedom to love. Freedom from rebellion, freedom from rejection, and freedom from self-centeredness. Keep me from wanting to use others for my goals and instead, seek to have loving others as my goal.

Holy Spirit, come and rule my lifestyle. Allow me not to be driven by unbelieving and self-centered passions. Such dark motives are against YOUR LOVE and YOUR LOVE is against such dark motives. Lead me now HOLY SPIRIT in every decision and emotion this day. Dominate my inner life and outward actions. Because of your LOVE for me, I am not under the condemnation of the law.

Lord, deliver me from the darkness of this unbelieving culture and give me a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Put to death in me the actions of unbelief and self-centeredness.

HOLY SPIRIT, create in my YOUR LOVE. Let this love express itself in joy in your love for me, inner peace with you and seeking peace with others, patience with myself in growing into grace and with others who are struggling, showing compassion through deeds of kindness, recognizing the fragile nature of human souls and the need of a gentle touch in my relationship with others, and able to have YOUR LOVE govern over my actions so that I control what I say and do, seeking to have it be an expression of your grace and care.

Messiah Jesus, I belong to you. YOU have bought me at infinite cost. Put to death in me that which is selfish, unbelieving, and dark. Allow the HOLY SPIRIT now to live in me and dominate me entirely. LORD Messiah Jesus, have mercy and make this a growing reality in my life day by day.

Lord have mercy, Messiah have mercy, Lord have mercy. Amen

Meditation on John 6:16-27

Meditation on John 6:16-27

Lord, help me not be afraid this day. I find myself in rough waters. Change seems to be on every side. It is dark and cold. The wind of life seems to blow against me and it takes a lot of effort to just make it through each day.

Help me hear your voice saying to me today to not be afraid because you are with me. Come now to me and be with me during this storm.

Lord, help me seek you not for what you can provide for me. Allow me to seek you because you are worthy of being sought. In YOU, Lord Jesus, is the gift of eternal life, a perfect union and communion with God forever.

Help me not value temporary things as more important than eternal reality. Permit me the insight to be heavenly minded this day. Help me not drown in the struggles of the storm but to be lifted into the glory of your eternal throne. Lord have mercy now and meet me where I am at.

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. Amen

Meditation on Hebrews 10:11-25

Meditation on Hebrews 10:11-25

Lord Messiah Jesus you have made a single, complete, and absolute sacrifice for all time for the sins and moral failings of your people and even now are at the right hand of God the Father, awaiting the time when every enemy of your redemptive kingdom will be overcome. By means of your single offering on the cross, you have made your, people free of guilt and condemnation forever.

Lord, Holy Spirit, now help us be in touch with the transformation of our hearts you have made by placing the principles of righteousness into us and transforming us from the inside out.

Lord Jesus, how can we ever appreciate or thank you for our total forgiveness and the removal of the account of our lawful deeds.

I come before you confident of your love and acceptance of me for you have sacrificed everything for me.

High Priest Jesus, pray for me today and help your perfect will be done in my life. Sing to my conscience your song of grace, love, and pardon that I might not condemn myself. Allow me to hold steady my confession of you as the Messiah all the days of my life. You are faithful and will keep your promises to me.

Lord, stir me up inwardly to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Let me seek to see your will to be done on earth as in heaven. Allow me to be an encourager to others to seek YOU as well. Grant me a desire to fellowship with other believers that we may encourage each other.

Lord, revive, renew, reform, and restore your Church. Fill us with the Holy Spirit and know how to reach this generation with your love.

Meditation on Psalm 45

Lord Jesus, you are the ideal King.

Your beauty of heart, soul, and character is one dominated by unconditional love.

Your words are full of wisdom, truth, and compassion.

King Jesus, your power makes you infinitely more powerful than all the mighty ones of history. Open my eyes to your splendor and majesty!

Come now into history and bring victory to the truth, the oppressed, and set right now all that is crooked, LORD, make all things straight.

Take from my flesh, the world, and the dark lord of lies their power and cripple them. Do awesome deeds now and push back the darkness with your perfect light and love.

King Jesus, God the Son who became the Son of God, your kingdom is one of righteousness and hatred of that which kills, steals, and destroys humanity YOU, have been anointed Messiah that we might be made glad and united to you in love.

Open now the ears of the Church, your bride, and help us to forget the teachings of the unbelieving cultures of our upbringing. Allow the heart of your fellowship of believers bow before you with loving adoration and loyalty. Help us with joy and gladness of heart come before your presence before the throne of YOUR grace.

Help us make disciples of all nations. Let us build a culture of truth, righteousness, beauty, and compassion to glorify your name before all creation. LORD, build your Church and destroy the gates of hell. May all nations see your glory revealed and reflected in your people who claim your name.

Lord, revive us, reform us, renew us, and restore us. Fulfill your promises to your people in our times. Pour out your love and compassion upon us and through us. Allow us to see things greater than we could ever imagine or hope could occur.

We are desperate LORD. Hear us!

Meditation on John 5:1-18

Meditation on John 5:1-18

LORD Jesus, you lived in a world very different from my world. In your world, people believed in God's power to heal and would wait for the stirring of water in the hope to be healed by divine power. Yet, this did not happen often. So miracles were rare. The needs, however, were desperate just as they are today. Perhaps in many ways, my time and culture are not so different.

LORD Jesus, I need you to speak words of power, change, and transformation into my world even as you did the world of this paralyzed man. The transformation I need today is not physical healing but the power to see people I love radically changed by real true repentance and faith. I need them "saved", converted, and made true disciples. This is an eternal healing as opposed to one that only lasts for a season in this life. Only your command can make this happen. Begin by giving them a knowledge they need spiritual healing and a hunger to gain this healing of the soul. Lord, have mercy upon them and grant them this true and eternal healing.

Lord, forgive us our legalism and self-righteousness. When you work among us there is always a tendency to judge what you are doing. To want it to be neater and in accordance with our traditions. Rather than seeing the desperate need or the wonder of your divine power transforming, we easily get consumed by lesser matters and controversies. Lord, save us from this type of religious insanity.

Lord, give to us a hatred and right estimation for rebelling against your will. Provide us with the insight that sin kills us. Give to us a love and thirst for righteousness even as you forgive us our sins by your sacrifice on the cross.

Help us to see you, Messiah Jesus, more clearly as the ultimate and personal revelation of God in the flesh, come to save us at great cost, so that we may love you more deeply and then follow you more nearly, this day and every day of our lives. Lord have mercy now.

Speak your word of power and revive us, renew us, reform us, and restore us. Lord Jesus have mercy. Amen

Meditation on Mark 7:31-37

Meditation on Mark 7:31-37
Lord, we cannot hear your word or speak your word. The impact of the rebellion against you has left us without
power to understand or to proclaim your truth.
Come today. Touch us today. Open our ears. Open our mouths. Place your hands upon us and focus your attention. Without your touch we are powerless. Without your help we are hopeless.
Give to us the faith to believe that the unsolvable problems can be solved by our presence, passion, and power. Take our feeling of hopelessness away. Provide for us a greater vision of what you can do and will do.
Come to your people now and give us ears to hear and mouths to speak. Revive our ability to understand your love and share your love. Personally, touch us. Come and encounter us. Change us. Transform us.
Without YOU, we can do nothing, hear nothing, and speak nothing. Come now and save us for your glory. LORD come!

Meditation on Psalm 37:1-18

Meditation on Psalm 37:1-18

LORD, I am glad that evil people do not win.  That you assure me that their plans will ultimately fail.   They and their power will fade.

But, I pray that in your mercy you will save some of the evil ones.  Like Saul let them become Paul.  Let those now dedicated to darkness becomes full of light.  Where there is an addiction to lies then let a hunger for truth be born.  Save the unsavable for your glory and their good.  LORD, have mercy where no mercy is deserved.

Help me trust you in the dark.  Help my heart, understand that there is no salvation in sin and only hope in virtue.  Help me take joy in you LORD and allow the desires of my heart to be holy and healthy.

Help my lifestyle, be one that is based on faith in your gospel and your ability to act in mighty ways to save.  Help me have hope that you will use my life for good, even when the path seems blocked and hope seems impossible.

Allow me not to panic when all seems lost.  Help my trust in you remain steadfast and quiet my soul when bad news comes.   Defeat the plans of the dark lord to kill, steal, and destroy.   Destroy the evil plans that would take away life and joy.

Keep me from trusting in my anger to move the obstacles and save me from useless worry.  Help me hope and trust in your promises.  Come and save quickly LORD.

Help me see the darkness defeated and allow the light to rule today!  Hear the cries of your people and have mercy upon mercy today.  Allow the WORD that has been planted to bear fruit this day.

Lord, allow your full victory to come to all nations.  Yet, in your mercy save many.  LORD, those I most love, please save them.  Bring your mercy, grace, compassion, and truth to them.   Lord have mercy.

Lord, bring revival in new and powerful ways to us.  We need you to manifest your glory fo the days are getting darker.  You alone are our hope.  Remember your promises and have super grace now upon us that we may glorify you forever.  Amen

Meditation on Hebrews 5:7-14

Meditation on Hebrews 5:7-14

Lord, allow me to have the faith to offer up loud cries and tears in my prayers and supplications as you did in your sojourn in your first advent.  Help me believe that all power is able to respond to fervent, righteous,  and sincere prayer.  Increase my trust in your power and willingness to answer wise prayers.

Help me to learn to obey motivated by faith and love.  Grant me the wisdom to see that sometimes doing the right thing will bring suffering.  Obedience many times demands to suffer.

Lord, Messiah Jesus be my high priest and remember me before the throne of grace  Help me to see the wisdom of obeying you and forgive me when I fail by your great grace.

Help me to discern what is good and evil as you discern it.  Help me master the basics of the faith that I may be able and ready to become a mature disciple in thoughts and deeds.  Help me not get stuck or backside.  Instead, LORD, grant me a growing faith, love and  hope.

Lord have mercy and let me honor you and be helped by you.  Amen

Lord, allow my lifestyle be such as is worthy of your great love for me in your sacrifice for my sins and resurrection to give me hope. Help me to remember that YOU have called me to YOURSELF to live by faith in YOUR love. Allow me to have a realistic view of myself and relate to others in longsuffering, compassion, and patience. Allow your love in me to give mercy and enduring grace to others as they struggle in this life.

Help me to work towards the unity and purity of the community of believers. Help me see what unites us and that we are united in YOU.

Lord, you ascended to heaven to have all rule and authority as Messiah over all nations and the universal Church. Raise up now for us and give us missionaries for all cultures and nations, sane and spiritual discerners of our times, those who have the ability to communicate clearly and with deep conviction your gospel, and leaders who will teach, live, and guide by a correct understanding of YOUR word. Prayer based on Psalm 18:1-20

Prayer based on Psalm 18:1-20

Lord, you are my strength. Help me to make you the ultimate concern of my life and love.

Lord, you are my safe and secure refuge during every attack. You save me from the worst consequences of my sins and the deadly plots planned for my destruction by the dark lord of lies.

In YOU, I have protection and peace.

When I cry to YOU, the one perfect in character, compassion, and competence, you keep me safe from the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Lord, the circumstances encompassed me with a loss of everything, they assailed me with defeats, I became entangled in insanity, and felt trapped, confronted with sure destruction on every side.

In all of this, I cried to you in desperation and you heard my voice. YOU are my HELPER!

You rescue me, day from day. The enemies of my soul are kept from reaching their goal. That which is stronger than me and would overcome me, you defeat moment my moment. YOU have unconditionally decided to delight in me due to your perfect sacrifice for my sins.

Lord, let me live a life worthy of your love and allow my hands to be clean from evil. Allow me to trust you in the dark and reflect your righteousness with compassion towards all. Amen

Prayer based on Psalm 5 & 6

Meditation on Psalm 5 & 6

Lord, give ear to that most troubled part of my heart, soul, and spirit. Pay attention to my desperate cries. In the morning, I come to you in great needs and depending on your blood to be the payment for my sins so that I may come to you boldly.

Lord, give to me a hatred of wickedness and lack of love within my life. Save me from pride and a false understanding of myself. Keep me from lying to myself and let me put no trust in my anger to force my will upon others. Pull down the strongholds in my heart that tell me lies about YOU, myself, and others. Renew my mind and heart.

My hope is in your steadfast, faithful, and sacrificial love for me. I come now into your presence and bow before you. Give me a true vision of your greatness, goodness and grace that I might respond with awe, respect, and love towards you.

Lead me in your ways and protect me from the attacks of the culture around me, my own unbelief still tangled in my soul and the dark lord of lies. Give me clear guidance and make my way straight that I might live a life that is one that follows you.

Let me not listen to the voices that recommend rebellion against your love and logic. Instead, let me take refuge in you and find joy in your protection and salvation. Be my shield this day from all that makes war against my soul.

Lord, have grace upon me for I am troubled and need your healing of my heart.

Turn towards me now Lord in your love and deliver me out of the darkness and struggles of my spirit. Save me because of your steadfast, faithful, and eternal love in Messiah Jesus.

I am weary from my mourning, tears, and grief. I grow weak. Now today be my comfort and help. Let the enemies of my soul and spirit be defeated.

Lord, you hear my plea. You accept my prayer. Your victory in the gospel is my victory this day. You stand by my side. You are my hope.

May you be praised forever.

Send renewal, reformation, and revival to me. Send renewal reformation and revival to us. Lord shake the nations with your love and open up the eyes of the blind and give them sight. Lord have mercy. Amen.

Meditation on Hebrews 2:11-18

Meditation on Hebrews 2:11-18

Lord Jesus, you call me your brother!  You call all of us who are your followers your brothers and sisters!  What grace is this that we would be considered in such close and intimate relationship to you?  We are so broken, I am so broken and yet you are not ashamed to own me as a member of your family.   You have set us apart to be your kin.   We are your children.

YOU, Lord Jesus, have taken on our flesh and blood so that through your death you might destroy the dark lord who held the power of death and darkness.  You have liberated us from the slavery of the kingdom of fear to your kingdom of faith.

You have become like us so that we may know that you fully understand our struggle.  You are our HIGH PRIEST so that you can show to us, mercy and by your faithfulness in paying for our sins on the cross have set us free of condemnation.

LORD Jesus because you have suffered and faced trials you are able to come to help us who are now facing tribulations and struggles fully understanding our situation.  YOU have embraced us and our condition.

Thank you LORD JESUS, for you are God the Son who has chosen to become the Son of God in the flesh, that we might know the depth and intensity of your desire to be with us and save us.   May you be adored and honored for all eternity for such great love, care, compassion and grace.  Amen

Meditation on Psalm 103

Lord, from the deepest parts of my heart, let me appreciate and be in awe of your goodness, greatness, and grace.

Lord, let me remember and rely on YOU being who you are in all your attributes and abilities. Let me not forget that you are the giver of every good aspect of my life.

YOU have forgiven my sins at infinite cost on the cross and healed me of the moral cancer of unbelief in my soul. Every illness I have recovered from it has been YOU who has allowed my recovery and continued my life. LORD, you are the giver of life to me physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

You have redeemed me from deserved hell fire, and in your faithful covenant love have in a totally free manner granted that I might be one of your royal children. When I die, I will be born anew in your kingdom forever.

Lord, watch over those oppressed. The victims of human trafficking, the unborn threatened by abortion, and the exploited poor who are denied fair wages for their labor. Lord work through us to set things right and bring justice to these wounds upon our society.

I praise you for your grace and patience with our disobedience and unbelief, offering day after day, time to believe and repent. Thank you for treating us as our moral failures and lack of love deserve. Instead, you committed yourself to providing a dependable and merciful love to us in YOUR sacrifice for our sins, resurrection from the dead, and intercession before the throne of God. YOUR love for us is infinite and without end.

YOU have completely and totally removed the just condemnation of our moral evil and disobedience from us. YOU know we are just dust and so very frail, as a Good Shepherd you lead us through this hard life of travail. LORD, continue to have compassion upon us day by day, for aside from that passionate caring we would perish.

We are small and finite, but your are from everlasting to everlasting and consistently love us from all eternity. Help us respond to your love with love for you. Grant us a heart of worship, respect, honor, and adoration. Capture our hearts and help us to see you as our KING, who rules over all.

Fill the heaven and the earth with a revelation and rejoicing in how great YOU are LORD. Let the universe and the heavens above be filled with the praise of your competence, compassion, and character. Fill us with your HOLY SPIRT, that we may now worship you with passion, integrity, and truth. Amen

Meditation based on Colossians 1:15-23

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see you as you are in your glory. Help me see you are the ultimate revelation in the flesh of God. YOU are the extreme manifestation of the invisible God and the Creator ruler of every atom of the universe. You are God the Son become the Son of God. Everything that exists has been made by you and for you.

Lord Jesus, you are the supreme authority and lover of your chosen people. YOU have created the Church. We are your body and YOU are our head. YOU should always come first in our individual lives and in our community life. In you, LORD Jesus all the fullness and awe of the Triune God dwells.

By your sacrifice and suffering upon the cross, you have brought back your creation from the curse of the rebellion to the blessing of salvation. YOU have granted your people true peace and shalom with God. YOU are our peace. Thank you, Lord, for reconciling us and redeeming us.

Lord, you have saved us from the old life of rebellion, darkness, and living selfish lives devoid of true love, to now be separated from the unbelieving culture around us and to live in a way that is worthy of such great sacrificial love. Help us to believe and keep on believing, being stable and steadfast in our relationship with you. Allow us to place our full hope in your gospel to transform us and the world.

Keep us from making other people or things into idols and shifting our trust from YOU to others. Save us from idolatry in which we value something or someone in the creation more that we value YOU.

Lord Jesus, let us see you more clearly, that we might love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, day by day. Amen

A Prayer To God Our Help

A Prayer to God Our Help (Isaac Watts)

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home!

Beneath the shadow of Thy throne
Still may we dwell secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their cares and fears,
Are carried downward by the flood,
And lost in following years.

Thy Word commands our flesh to dust:
"Return, ye sons of men!"
All nations rose from earth at first
And turn to earth again.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly forgotten as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

Like flowery fields the nations stand,
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower's hand
Lie withering ere 'tis night.

Our God our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while life shall last,
And our eternal home.

Meditation on Isaiah 49:1-7

Good Lord, may all the nations and cultures become aware of your plan of redemption, salvation, and restoration of righteousness in the servant Messiah Jesus. You had called him from the womb of Mary to be the powerful weapon that would destroy the plans of the dark lord of evil and bring back Eden, removing the curse.

As the world sees you, Messiah Jesus, they believe you labored in vain. The unbelieving cultures see you as spending YOUR life for nothing and vanity. Yet the true value of YOUR life of obedience, sacrifice for our sins, resurrection from the dead, ascension to be mediator, and return in final judgment will fully demonstrate that YOU, Messiah Jesus, will bring the glory of God to earth and that your struggle has not been in vain but has brought salvation to the world.

LORD, you will see all Israel be saved as part of your great plan of salvation, yet even this is not enough for your great love. Not only Israel will see your light but every group of people, tongue, tribe, and culture will be bathed in your revelation and truth. YOU will have those who worship you and know your salvation from every corner of the globe. YOU have promised that the entire Middle East will abandon Muhammad as a true prophet and come in masses to accept YOU as the true final prophet and incarnation of GOD. (Isaiah 19:19-26)

Allow me to see the future that has been promised in every nation, kingdom, and culture will submit to the one they despise today. Every knee, of everyone in power, will fall down before you on their faces fully in submission to you. YOU Jesus will be seen to be what you are; KING of kings and LORD of lords.

LORD, you are my Redeemer for you came not to be served but to serve and give your life a ransom for many. Thank you for being willing to pay such a great price for my salvation and the deliverance of all your people. Thank you for removing the curse and bringing back the blessing to all nations by your great grace alone.

Lord, today let me live a life worthy of such good news of such sacrificial love. Grant me more faith that I might grow in my love for you. Amen

Meditation on Ephesians 5:1-20

Lord, thank you for making me your beloved.  Help my lifestyle to reflect YOUR love for me as it was demonstrated by the Messiah Jesus suffering for my sake and giving HIS life a ransom for me.

Lord, I live in a culture filled with sexual distortions, impurity, and greed.  I swim in a social ocean that is dominated by moral filthiness, words that harm instead of heal, and has an abundance of impurity in how everyone speaks.  Keep me from imitating these actions, attitudes or ways of speaking.

Grant me humble purity from all that is spiritual cyanide.    For such a lifestyle is not a preparation for enjoying and knowing YOUR perfect KINGDOM of righteousness.  Help me not become deceived by clever arguments that want to justify things that cannot be justified.  Our culture is facing God's just judgment for all of these things.

Lord, help me to be a fruitful partner with you in bringing your KINGDOM to earth.  Let me not become unequally yoked to the rebellious culture I live in.  Help me develop a lifestyle that reflects your righteous, merciful, and compassionate heart towards even those who reject your love and gospel.

Lord show me what would please you.  Let me not join other in morally wrong actions just to be accepted by others.  Shine your light on me that I might see my transgressions against your LOVE and by your grace become purified of them.  Bring to me the substantial healing my soul needs.

Awaken my soul and spirit this day and allow me to see clearly what I must do and what I should not do.  Provide me with moral clarity.

Give me insight in how to have every hour of my day produce the fruit it can produce through me.  Make of me a fruitful vine.

Let me not be tempted to escape the serious nature of my life through the culture diversions of fornication, misuse of alcohol and drugs, greed, and seeking to have power and control over others.

Holy Spirit now come and take control of my body, mind, soul, and spirit.  Pour yourself into me that I might have the ability to do your will on the earth.

Let me be ready to be in passionate participate in worship tomorrow and sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs out of the core of my true self.

Lord help me see all you have given me and in that vision of the greatness of your character, compassion, and competence allow my soul to experience true thanksgiving for all you have are and are doing.
